Female sport casting has faced many issues and it is still faces them today. In the 70's women were hired for the wrong reasons and were treated unequally. Female sport reporters were hired just their looks and TV networks needed a minority field. Most of the time the women hired had no experience and the reports they were reporting were written by a man. Another issue was and still is today is women's salaries are much lower than the men. Women rarely get assigned to report on big major events such as the Super Bowl, World Series, And the World Cup. And even when given the chance to report there are the issues of players and staff harassing them in the locker-room and on the field. Women have come a long way and have made a breakthrough in sports but even today after all the laws passed are yet not taken seriously and are treated unfairly. Recently there was an incident with a female reporter being harassed by a NFL team, the New York Jets.
